Henri-Abraham Chatelain (1684 - 1743)

French cartographer Abraham Chatelain began his seven volume work, Atlas Historique, ou Nouvelle Introduction l'Histoire, in Paris in 1705. Due to the large scale of the project, he ran into financial difficulties and moved to Amsterdam with his sons to complete the atlas in 1720.
